After three, surprisingly, mostly pleasant days of driving from Colorado through the Midwest, we have safely landed in New Jersey!!!
The weather and road conditions couldn’t have been better. The first day took us about 13 hours total, including stops to fuel our bodies and vehicles. The children and our dog did amazingly well during the drive and slept, very little, but well at the hotels along the way. The second and third days took 11 and 7 hours respectively. Thankfully we arrived in the early afternoon on Saturday, so we had time to unpack the moving truck and return it that night. That was a miracle in itself.
We have mostly been restocking/buying food and household items that we couldn’t bring and unpacking and organizing the last of our stuff to make it feel like “home”.
On our third day in New Jersey my car decided to stall on a road, thankfully, near our new home. I thought I was going to have to call my husband and then a tow truck. But, thankfully I decided to try to turn off and then restart my car and it worked again! I got home and immediately called my husband to tell him of our newest development. I was carrying a lot of food items that I had just bought and was afraid I might have had to leave in the car. But, God is so good and He got us through it!! Now, I just have to wait to see what the mechanic says about the problem. Hopefully it won’t be too costly. I will be needing my car if I am to take the girls on school field trips.
So, thank you to all who have been praying for our trip to be safe. It was a great trip and like I said, it was surprisingly pleasant. Now, we need prayers for both our cars to be “healthy” and safe to drive.
I’m looking forward to not unpacking any more, for a while.
Ta ta for now (TTFN)!
